Email alias vs temporary email

A code you will use once belongs on the temporary address. A site you will open again gets an alias that forwards to your real inbox. Do not give both jobs to the same address.

Temporary inbox

3 hours

Open the home page and read there. When the address expires, new mail stops.

  • Mail stays on this page, and you can come back after closing the browser
  • You cannot send from here, and this page does not offer attachment downloads
  • Swap the address when you are done. The old one is destroyed

Lasting alias

30 days

The address can stay. The desk keeps the forward log for 30 days so you can check who wrote.

  • A 6-digit code goes to your real inbox. The first success opens the account
  • Every alias forwards to the inbox you used to sign in
  • Up to 100. Pause drops new mail. Delete stops receiving

Three ordinary cases

01

Once

Sign up, take the code, leave. Use the temporary inbox so you do not keep an address that can still receive mail.

02

You will return

Give the shop, the forum, and the newsletter each their own alias. A later leak names itself.

03

Junk starts

Pause that one alias. The others keep forwarding. The 30-day log shows which address was hit first.
